Welcome to Garretson Elementary School!

My name is Teresa Johnson and as the Garretson Elementary Principal and Special Education Director, I am a firm believer that "Children are likely to live up to what we believe in them."

I have been in Garretson since 2008 and previously taught fourth grade for fourteen years.  I received my bachelors degree from Dakota State University with an Elementary Education major and Physical Education minor.  My masters degree in Educational Leadership comes from the University of Sioux Falls.  I love working with children and promoting the gift of learning.  I am a mother of three daughters, Megan, Kendra, and Malia, and know firsthand the importance of trusting my own children's education to others.  We are proud to be a part of the Garretson School District!

Please feel free to contact me at (605)594-3453 Ext #2, Option #1 with any questions or concerns.

 Help Our School

We are a collection point for aluminum can tabs. They can be dropped off at the elementary school. Tabs are a benefit for the Ronald McDonald House.

Box Tops for Education earn our school CASH! With each box top, our school earns ten cents.  This money goes towards equipment and supplies for students.

Land O Lakes milk gallon caps also provide CASH for our school.  They are worth five cents a piece and earn us at least $150 a year!
